Such a wonderful time the Informal Upright crew had last night at the IRL Festival's "Crossing the Ocean by Pen" panel discussion. It was a great turnout in spite of the inclement weather, and we couldn't be happier with the conversations and discussions throughout the evening.
A special thank you goes out to Sue Nally for orchestrating the Festival and for using the evening's panel discussion as a way of raising money to support a production of Grosse Ile set for this time 2018. That's right, folks! We're shooting for the moon and taking the stars with us into 2018 and we can't wait to show you what Ciarán and the rest of us at Informal Upright have come up with.
Here at Informal Upright, we're hard at work on getting our launch event together and we've got our next episode of Informalities in the works, so there's lots to stay tuned for, lots we're excited to share with you.
On another note!
Our Associate Director, Shawn DeSouza-Coelho has recently begun a fundraising initiative for an art installation called The PoeTree, or a place of emotional exchange between strangers. The premise is simple: set up in Trinity Bellwoods Park, the tree offers a place for strangers to share the written word and themselves with one another, one poem at a time.
Here at Informal Upright we're all about community and this project is right up our alley. So, click the link and read all about it. Donate if you can! Every little bit helps.
